Nexus was built on the ruins of the old city after the Great Blackout of 2089, when the power grid collapsed for 40 days and 12 million people died. Corporations arrived with ready-made infrastructure at prices few could afford. Today 3% of residents live in Upper Nexus — gleaming towers, clean air, private police. 97% exist in Lower Nexus, where corporate law replaced state law, and the only freedom is the one you fight for yourself. The resistance movement 'White Noise' has been disrupting corporate transmissions for years. No one knows where they are. Everyone wants to join them.
