SCI FISHIP YEAR −10
SHIP YEAR −10 — Prologue
Ten years before Holdfast departs, Elias Venn watches another ark leave the shipyard and learns what it means when contact remains but reachability closes.

THE LONG WAKE is an industrial science-fiction world about people crossing interstellar space aboard Holdfast — a colossal colony ark built for a voyage lasting nearly two centuries.

THE LONG WAKE is an industrial science-fiction world about people crossing interstellar space aboard Holdfast — a colossal colony ark built for a voyage lasting nearly two centuries.
Most of its population spends the journey in long-duration stasis, waking only for successive Watches when the mission needs their knowledge, labor, or judgment. Every awakening may happen in a different era of the voyage. The same hull endures, while the people, sectors, institutions, and pressures around them change from decade to decade. Holdfast is neither a utopian starship nor a permanent disaster. It is an aging industrial machine whose systems, repairs, and past decisions leave physical and institutional traces for the Watches that follow. Distance stays fixed; reachability does not. A sealed sector may return to human use after decades. A person may go to sleep young and wake into a world where others have lived through entire decades. Every story takes place aboard the same vessel, but in a different time, place, and set of pressures. THE LONG WAKE is an adult science-fiction anthology blending hard-ish SF, procedural tension, exploration, engineering, horror, and the human cost of discontinuous time. Same hull. Different era. Different sector. Different people. Different pressure.
Destination - Keldra III
Keldra is a nearby red-dwarf system about eighteen light-years from Earth. It is close enough for a sublight ark mission, but far enough that the voyage belongs to generations, Watches, and long-duration stasis rather than ordinary travel.
Primary star
Keldra - M-type red dwarf
A long-lived, low-mass star. Its habitable zone sits close to the primary, making orbital geometry, radiation weather, and shielding part of mission planning.
Distance from Earth
approx. 18 light-years
Near on an interstellar map, unreachable on a human timescale without stasis. Holdfast was built for a voyage lasting almost two centuries.
Known system
Five major planets and a broken belt
Keldra I, II, III, IV and V define the primary survey architecture, with the Broken Ring asteroid belt cutting through the outer system.
Mission target
Keldra III - The Wayfarer
The third planet is the colonial destination: the world that gives the journey its purpose, but not a promised utopia.

Keldra III - surface horizon
Territory, routes and pressure points.

Choose who you become.
Adventures available now.

As Rian Holt, lead a transfer team through a closing technical zone, flooded service tunnels, a dark maintenance spine, and a near-axis service void after the ship closes a route on incomplete occupancy evidence. Martin Crysiak holds the only passage window and dies; Evan Saye survives into medical stabilization; the final report decides what the next Watch inherits.
Play
As Tessa Vale, certify only what the ship can honestly support: an evacuation route that opens for ordinary crew but fails assisted, return-prepped movement under draw-down pressure.

SCI FIEARLY VOYAGE
RETURN WINDOW
Very early in the voyage, cutter 06 leaves Holdfast for a body that should only be a navigational problem. The return window is still open, until it is not.
SCI FISHIP YEAR 74
THE CARTOGRAPHER'S CORRECTION
In Ship Year 74, Tessa Vale discovers that a route can be observed, usable and still not certified for the promise everyone has been making about it.
SCI FISHIP YEAR 128
THE CLOSED GARDEN
In Ship Year 128, Bio Reserve C-17 has been closed for sixty-seven years. It is stable, isolated and unnecessary, until a dry bypass line becomes useful on paper.
SCI FISHIP YEAR 186
DRIFT BUDGETS
In Ship Year 186, Forge Four can still make perfect parts. The problem is that Holdfast no longer fits cleanly inside its own future configuration margin.
